I arrived in the profession of Massage Therapy in 1995. My journey to that place started many years prior. In the seventies my father was diagnosed with high blood pressure and my mother took immediate action to make a difference. My siblings and I ingested many “it’s good for you” concoctions from that point on. Nothing but steamed veggies and low fat dishes were presented at the dinner table. Nutrition became a hobby for me. This passion led me to study Reflexology as a way of enhancing a nutritious healthy lifestyle. I then studied Shiatsu for a short period which lead me to Massage Therapy.
After 11 years working on Bay Street in the investment world, (where I practiced Reflexology in the board room at lunch) and with the support of many very special individuals, I embarked on a life transforming journey. In January 1994, I began my education and training in massage therapy at Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic. After 18 straight months of grueling hard work, I graduated and attained the designation Registered Massage Therapist. Nutrition again played a large role in my education at SC along with specific areas of study such as working with seniors, the bereaved, pregnancy, athletes, HIV/Aids patient care and with those suffering with Multiple Sclerosis. I have since engaged in further study in The Tragger Method, Reiki, Yamuna Body Rolling, Hot Stone Massage and working with essential oils. I have also completed the Holistic Nutrition Program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. It is my privilege to be chosen by you as a facilitator in your quest for improved health and well-being. Most recently, I have been certified in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage, a deep tissue approach to muscle tension.
